All humans as they journey through life, have and use specific skills that have been obtained through their lifetime and rely on them to accomplish their goals in certain ways.
These skills can be many, and people will fall back on them whenever they need to accomplish a task or a goal.
These skills that you might think were easy or hard to obtain make up that toolbox that you can always use when faced with an opportunity.
Now, what happens if all of a sudden that toolbox of skills that you have developed is not very useful in this moment of your life?
When there are changes that impact your normal way of life, maybe a loss of your job, an accident or a natural disaster that impacted you enough to question your path towards life.
Those major changes in life that make you think that maybe the skills you have are not enough or you find out that you need to think how to deal with certain situations you are not prepared for.
Many people fall into despair and start to question their life choices and blaming others. But having these changes control your life could be very harmful.
What if you changed your perspective and used these life changing events to think and meditate on how you are approaching life and if your skillset can be improved?
Maybe you got so comfortable with your skills that you never even thought to work on something to add to your skill toolbox when there was more stability in your life when you maybe had more time.
However maybe this life changing event is the opportunity that allows you to work on developing other skills and make them stronger.
I’m sure that if you can go back in time and see when you first started to do something which you consider to be a strength now, you were not very good at it.
So similar to that time you have to start somewhere.
The beauty of this is that now you have more experience and can be able to identify something that you can work on.
You never know, that might turn out to be your biggest strength.
Always be willing to add more tools to your skills toolbox, and prepare yourself more for the only certain thing in life which is change.
Approaching these life changing events as opportunities, allows you to face life with courage and excitement for what will come next.
Ackcnowledging that change is the only constant thing in the universe and developing the skill to face change will be “Your Biggest Strength”
