The Eternal Pursuit for Friday

How many times have you heard the term TGIF “Thank Goodness it’s Friday”, which is commonly used as small talk or to open a conversation with someone, or somebody saying with excitement “it’s almost Friday”?

Maybe it’s said just tongue in cheek but, how many of you think that way?

Just trying to get through the week until that coveted Friday comes so you can really enjoy life by getting to the weekend much faster.

However, isn’t constantly wishing for those Fridays to come faster, only wishing for time to move faster?

And I don’t know about you, but time seems to move fast enough as is without whishing it moves faster.

Wishing for the future to come as fast as possible and only looking forward to those weekends, only tells me that maybe you are not enjoying what you do most of the time and that you are not taking advantage of life to its fullest.

If you make it a habit to set your goal to get to a weekend fast and if that weekend is less than 30% of your time, just imagine how fast that weekend will come to an end relative to your weekdays.

I believe you should embrace every day and try to live it to your fullest, whatever you are doing, find those opportunities to make the most of your day.

Even when the days seem tedious or boring you can do things to search and find those hidden gems throughout every day, that is accomplished only if you change the way you approach every single day.

Like everything in life you need to start doing something to change the way you approach each second, minute, hour and day of your life.

This world is full of opportunities, and they do not only present themselves during the weekend.

Maybe you are not doing something you love, if that’s the case, start working on steps to incorporate things you love during those weekdays.

Let’s face it, we all have to work at something so we might as well find what we love.

To start, maybe find that thing in your weekday that makes you happy and try to use it to motivate you during the weekday.

Might be something as simple as enjoying that cup of coffee, having a more meaningful conversation with a coworker, a walk through a certain place. Maybe do something different take a alternate route to work, take a few minutes to say hi and talk to someone different, take a break and walk outside for 5 minutes. Try different things and look for things that make your day more enjoyable. Because if you set your weekly goal to get to the weekend and enjoy less than 30% of your given time, then what are you doing with more than 70% of your time on this earth?

Think about it, maybe it is time to live the moment, for whatever it is, it’s a moment that will not exist and will be gone forever.

The more you practice how to acknowledge and enjoy the present, the happier you will be.
