Have you ever been in a situation where you are going to a specific place where you have gone many times before, you are familiar with the path and the surroundings but for some reason you get lost. And when that happens you wonder why could this happen to you and might think you are losing your mind?
But if you analyze what could have happened, there could be many reasons:
- You could have been distracted with many things in your mind and missed that key turn that got you off track.
- You could have been following someone else that is not familiar with the path and didn’t want to say they were going the wrong way.
- Maybe you are second guessing yourself and are not focusing on the task.
- Maybe you are just not looking, not paying attention and you end up somewhere else.
Whatever reason you can get back to the path and continue the journey towards your destination. And as we journey through life, we find that we veer off the path many times sometimes it might be just for a moment, and you get back to the path fairly quickly.
Other times we get so off the path that we need help to get back and on our way to our goal.
And how can we know if we are off the path?
Well, you have to take moments of stillness, stop and look around to see where you are:
- Emotionally
- Physically
- Mentally
- Spiritually
And take some time to be still and determine if you are on the right path.
Life sometimes goes by so fast that we do not take time to do a self-check, and we should prioritize making time to do self-checks.
Make time to pray, meditate or contemplate where you are and listen to that voice inside of you and be true to yourself.
When you can’t discern if you are on the right path, there are others that can help, you just need to face your pride and allow yourself to be helped.
No matter how far off your path you are, you can always find a way back either by being truthful to yourself or by asking for help.
Regardless how you do it you will get back to the right path when you are committed to get back on the path you have envisioned for yourself.
